Southern Trip Day 2 - Still at Copeton

Hi Y’all

Well alas there were no cod for me today….hang on I will start at the beginning of the day.

Shannon awoke to strange noises outside our camper, when he looked out the window he saw it was two young – lets call them teenage – kangaroos having a fight.  He said it was pretty half arsed, they kind of had a scrap, a kick, a break and then went again.  How cool is that to wake up to!

Here are a few shots from this morning at Copeton Dam:

We got up had breaky and went into town to grab a few things, when we came back, around 11 am, we found we were inundated with the state bird of New South Wales………………the dreaded blowfly!
My Boys
My Boys
Finn was very unimpressed, and kept saying ‘why are there so many mozzies’, I’d hate to see mozzies that big!

After that we were going to have a snooze, well I did, but Shan and Finn went for a wander and found some treasure – a pair of old glasses that Finn insisted Shan bring back!
Fishing Buddy
They got back to camp in time to wake me up so I could see two emus walking by the camper.  Honestly it is so surreal and beautiful to have two of this countries emblems walking by.

Oh so back to the fishing, we launched the kayak and went for a paddle around, no cod, unfortunately, but I got a little punk spangled perch, cute but not photo worthy – mainly because he jumped the hook as I was bringing him aboard!

Hobie

We went back into town this afternoon, and we really felt left out………..we are pretty much the only 4WD that doesn’t have a spot light out of the roof!  Where can we get one (cue the banjo music – or the Deliverance banjo theme).

Our campsite

Anyway we are back at camp safe and sound and baking potatos in the fire.  We are off to Dubbo tomorrow and will be hitting up the Zoo.

Till tomorrow
